This 2-lesson course introduces you to key decisions as you prepare for your child’s birth: the type of birth you want (home, birth center, or hospital), who you want present for support (obstetrician, midwife, doula, partner, friends, or family), and how to interview, make agreements with, and interact with hospital staff and others who will be involved. The course is primarily text-based with exercises and guided conversations to help you work through these decisions together.

In Conversations in Coparenting short, interactive videos and guided conversations with your partner will prepare you for the many changes in your lives as you become parents. This is true whether you are birth parents, adoptive parents, or co-partners in some alternative arrangement. This course is designed to help you create the best possible home for your child. That home is the relationship between the two of you and any others involved in your child’s care.

(This course was prepared based on information from Diana Peterson, a childbirth educator, and revised with the help of Kimberly Sansoucy, a consultant with many years of experience as women’s advancement.)
